Looking to build two eboards. One will be suited more street use with Torque trucks while the other build will be an All-Terrain board with Evolve trucks and wheels. A couple of questions about some parts which will be common to both of them:
First, I weigh about 220 lbs. This means a dual motor setup is almost mandatory for me. I know that 6374 is most likely the best motor size for me. Question is will 6355 size motor work as well?
Second, I've got 1 Turnigy Aerosky SK3 6374 motor. I've heard they're pretty good. But, I've also heard of some quality issues. I was thinking about using this motor for one of my builds. I justed to get opinion on this forum as to whether to use this motor. It does look cool!
Third, when it comes to a wheel choice for my streetboard, I'm looking at the 100mm MBS wheels. Is there a better set of wheels in same size category I should be looking at? I do feel I need wheel no less than 100mm. But, I'm willing to look at 97 mm wheels if the reason to buy them is good enough.
Fourth, I plan on using the FlipSky 6.6 dual vesc in both builds. I see three different versions on their website. I'm wondering which one to buy? A little confused on that one.
Finally, which controller would you recommend and why?
Thank you so much in advance!
This is such a cool hobby!
I would go for the flipsky 4.2 dual plus, i have both and for you kind of build there would be no advantage to the 6.6, i used the mbs 100 wheels for a while, they are not best of both worlds. There soft compound does soak up a lot of road bumps but the small contact patch means braking is sub optimal, i have changed my non direct drive street board to abec 107 buy far better alround wheel yes twice the price. 6354 are fine for your weight i have built a board for a friend who is 130Kg and he has no issues even up hills. 12S battery is recommended, evolve AT is a great inexpensive option especially if you can get the new tires, the other option I would recommend is dickyho (ebay) has a cheap at setup, I have used and is rock solid also more flexible with motors and wheels.
